More Ways to Enjoy Frozen YogurtThe Hood Answer Mom, Elizabeth M. Ward, M.S., R.D.
You’re craving something sweet and cool for a snack or dessert. A bowl or cone filled with Hood Frozen Yogurt fits the bill, but there are also other ways to enjoy Salted Caramel Espresso and Berry Chocolate Crumble, the most recent additions to the Hood Low Fat Frozen Yogurt line up.
Here are two quick ways to turn the delicious new frozen yogurt flavors into something extra special!
Salted Caramel Coffee Float
This float is a play on affogato, an Italian coffee-based dessert. I love coffee, and I am thrilled that it offers so many health benefits. Even better, coffee counts toward filling your daily fluid requirements! This recipe makes one serving.
- 2 teaspoons salted caramel sauce, divided
- 1/2 cup Hood Salted Caramel Espresso Low Fat Frozen Yogurt
- 8 ounces strong hot coffee, regular or decaf
Place 1 teaspoon caramel sauce in the bottom of a mug or a tempered glass. Add the frozen yogurt. Add the coffee. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce and enjoy immediately!
Berry Granola Parfait
Use snacking as an opportunity to include fruit. You get a half serving of fruit (about 25% of what you need for the day) and whole grain cereal in this tasty combination. This recipe serves one.
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon low-fat granola cereal
- 3/4 cup Hood Berry Chocolate Crumble Low Fat Frozen Yogurt
Place half the raspberries in a tall glass. Layer with ¼ cup granola and half of the frozen yogurt. Repeat. Top with the remaining granola. Serve immediately.
