3 Easy and Delicious Holiday Desserts

The Hood Answer Mom, Elizabeth M. Ward, M.S., R.D.

The holiday season is full of festivities, and you only have so much time and energy to go around. Why work harder than you have to in the kitchen?

It's not necessary to bake every seasonal goodie from scratch for it to be delicious. Mixes make baking easier because they do nearly all of the work for you.

When you use Hood Eggnog and Hood Cream in a cake or brownie mix, it tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen, and nobody has to know otherwise. These three low-stress recipes all start with a mix, and end with delicious festive dessert. Now, that's my kind of cooking!

Golden Eggnog Cake is a perennial favorite around the holiday table.  It's so simple to make, yet so beloved by those who can't wait every year for Hood Golden Eggnog, which is used in place of water in the cake mix.  An eggnog glaze tops off this rich, moist cake.  Decorate with colored sugar to make this dessert even more festive!

Pumpkin Eggnog Gingerbread has just five ingredients and goes together in minutes. Hood Pumpkin Eggnog intensifies the flavors in the gingerbread mix. The finished product is not overly sweet, so you could skip the frosting and serve it alongside an entree, or serve it for dessert.

Dark Chocolate Brownies with Peppermint Whipped Cream showcase the ease of starting with a mix and ending up with a rich, sweet delight. The brownies are baked in a muffin tin, so there’s no cutting involved. Top with whipped Hood Heavy Cream flavored with peppermint extract and crushed peppermint candy, a sure sign of the holiday season!
