  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

directions
Preheat oven to 350˚F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt with a whisk. Set aside.

In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter with the sugar and brown sugar until creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Add the egg yolks and the vanilla extract and beat for 1 minute more on high speed.

Add the flour mixture and the eggnog to the butter mixture and beat on low speed until combined, about 2 minutes.

Drop by level tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, and form into balls. Bake for 12-13 minutes. Remove from oven, and, using a small spatula, press gently on the tops to flatten them slightly. Cool on a wire rack before frosting.

Combine the ingredients for the frosting in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Frost cookies and dust with confectioner’s sugar, if desired.
