Hood® Simply Smart® Milk Recognizes Boston Woman for Her Dedication to Making a Difference

Lynnfield, MA (August 15, 2012)

Hood® Simply Smart® Milk and Chris Evert, Simply Smart spokesperson and tennis legend, announced that Samantha Eisenstein Watson, Founder of The SAMFund in Boston, MA, is one of three recipients of a $5,000 donation from winning Hood Simply Smart Milk's "Make a Difference, Taste a Difference" campaign."We are honored to receive this donation from Hood Simply Smart Milk and appreciate the support of our growing Facebook community," says Watson. "As a young adult survivor myself, I'm grateful every day for the opportunity to pay forward all of the support I received during my own years of treatment. Survivorship does not happen alone; the ability to move forward after a cancer diagnosis requires the support of friends, family and community. The SAMFund is proud to play a small role in enabling young adult survivors to rebuild their lives after cancer treatment. These funds will provide grants to help them with their medical, living and other expenses so that they can regain their independence and stay healthy and strong."The Simply Smart "Make a Difference, Taste a Difference" program recognizes local women making a difference in their communities. Two other women were also chosen for making a difference in their communities - Carla Miklos, Executive Director of Operation Hope in Fairfield, CT, and Debbi McCarthy, Director of Development for Feeding America Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay, FL. In celebration, Chris Evert will deliver the donation and participate in activities to congratulate the winning organizations at a later date. Winners were chosen based on the number of votes received on the Simply Smart Milk Facebook page."It's a true honor to recognize Samantha as part of the Hood Simply Smart 'Make a Difference, Taste a Difference' program with a $5,000 Donation to The SAMFund," said Chris Evert. "It is important for everyone to not only make a difference in their community but also for their families in their everyday choices. These women being recognized by Hood for their efforts are true examples of how their dedication and hard work are leaving a lasting imprint on their communities.""With Simply Smart Milk, you can taste a difference - all the taste without all the fat. We're proud that consumers helped Make a Difference in their local communities by honoring three exceptional women and the organizations they support," said Lynne Bohan, Hood spokesperson. "It is important to acknowledge Samantha, Debbi, and Carla for the work they do to help local women make the right choices for themselves, their families and their communities."For more information, visit
