Hood Launches New Charitable Promotion to Benefit Red Sox Foundation
Lynnfield, MA (July 28, 2014)
Hood®, the leading dairy brand in New England, today announced that for every carton of Hood Red Sox “Champions” Ice Cream sold between now and the end of this year’s baseball season, the company will donate $1 to the Red Sox Foundation (up to $100,000), the official charity of the Boston Red Sox.Former Red Sox pitcher and current Red Sox Foundation board member Tim Wakefield announced the donation during a celebration with the Massachusetts Little League Championship teams at the Hood Blimp landing space in Beverly, Massachusetts. This season the Hood Blimp features the Red Sox logo alongside the Hood logo to honor the brand’s long-standing relationship with the baseball franchise. Hood is the official dairy of the Red Sox.
“Together with Hood, the Red Sox Foundation is committed to making a difference in the lives of local youth,” said Mike Egan, board member for the Red Sox Foundation. “This donation from Hood Red Sox Ice Cream will enable our organization to further its mission to serve the health, education, recreation and social service needs of children and families in need across New England.”
Hood has been a sponsor of the Boston Red Sox for more than a decade, and first introduced Red Sox Ice Cream following the team’s 2004 World Series win. Hood Red Sox Champions Ice Cream is available in six different flavors and five varieties of frozen novelties, and is available in grocery stores across New England.
