A CULTURE OF RESPONSIBILITY

At Hood®, we are building on a collaborative culture by partnering with the dairy industry and our suppliers to drive continuous improvement. Read on to learn more about Hood’s efforts in operations, standards for our dairy suppliers, and commitments to recycling and labor in our supply chain.

Our Operations

HP Hood is member of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy’s® Sustainability Alliance® and has adopted the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment. As an adopting company, Hood supports the U.S. dairy industry’s goals to “achieve greenhouse gas neutrality, optimize water usage and improve water quality by 2050.” We contribute to the goals through annual reporting on topics like energy and water use, and voluntary engagement in working groups.

Animal Care

Dairy Suppliers

The farmers who supply the fresh milk used to make Hood dairy products are required to adopt humane animal care as a core value.  These dairy farms must certify they are compliant with National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management Animal Care (FARM AC) program. This International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recognized program addresses animal care practices, on-farm evaluations, and works to ensure the integrity of the program through third-party verifications. The animal care program focuses on active enforcement, providing training and educational resources, and continuous improvement. Hood encourages and supports the dairy industry’s efforts to promote and enforce animal well-being.
