Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 15.25 oz. box yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. Hood Milk in the LightBlock Bottle
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup well-stirred tahini*
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

*Stir tahini in the jar before measuring it as it tends to settle

Directions

  • STEP 1

Preheat oven to 350˚ F. Coat a 9-inch by 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on two sides.

  • STEP 2

Toast sesame seeds. Place seeds in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently for 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • STEP 3

Place cake mix, milk, eggs, tahini, and vanilla extract into the bowl of an electric mixer. Mix on low speed until just combined, then mix on medium speed for 4 minutes.

  • STEP 4

Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.

  • STEP 5

Pour batter into baking pan. Sprinkle sugar, sesame seeds, and remaining 2 tablespoons chocolate chips evenly on top of the batter.

  • STEP 6

Bake about 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out almost clean with a few moist crumbs attached.

  • STEP 7

Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Cut into 20 pieces.
