Heluva Good Recalls Cold Pack Cheese Products Because of Possible Health Risk
Lynnfield, MA (January 15, 2010)
HP Hood is expanding the previously announced recall of some select Heluva Good branded 8 oz. plastic cup containers of Cold Pack Cheese Food because they may contain Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness and nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. 8 oz. plastic cup containers of Heluva Good Port Wine Cold Pack Cheese Food UPC 73570 55503Sell by date between 01/14/10 and 12/15/108 oz. plastic cup containers of Heluva Good Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack Cheese Food UPC 73570 55501Sell by date between 01/14/10 and 12/15/108 oz. plastic cup containers of Heluva Good Cheddar & Horseradish Cold Pack Cheese FoodUPC 73570 55508Sell by date between 01/14/10 and 12/15/10The recalled products were distributed in stores in the following states: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Iowa, Georgia and Mississippi.
