Greek Turkey Burgers with Feta Tzatziki Sauce image

Ingredients

    FOR FETA TZATZIKI

  • 1/3 cup Hood Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • FOR TURKEY BURGERS

  • 1/4 cup grated zucchini
  • 16 oz. 93% lean ground turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. Hood Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 Tbsp. dried oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. Hood Sour Cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • pinch fresh ground black pepper
  • 4 2-oz. hamburger buns
  • pinch fresh ground black pepper
  • Lettuce
  • Thinly sliced red onion, if desired

Directions

  • STEP 1

    Make the feta tzatziki: In a small bowl, stir together the sour, parsley, feta cheese, and lemon juice until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve the burgers.

  • STEP 2

    Make the turkey burgers: Place grated zucchini int a bowl lined with two sheets of paper towels. Wrap the paper towels around the zucchini and squeeze out the excess moisture (this will prevent the zucchini adding too much water to the burgers).

  • STEP 3

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the zucchini, turkey, sour cream, zucchini, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix well. (The mixture will be wet and soft, and if you find it too difficult to form into patties, place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to make it easier to handle). Form the burgers into 4 patties of equal size.

  • STEP 4

    Spray a large grill pan (or any large pan you like) well with vegetable cooking spray and set it over medium-high heat. Add the turkey burgers and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes per side. A meat thermometer inserted in the center of the patties should register 165˚F.

  • STEP 5

    Divide the cooked turkey patties among the hamburger buns and top with thinly sliced red onion, lettuce, and feta tzatziki sauce. Serve immediately.
